Since 1990, Hans-F has travelled widely to paint in watercolour "on location" in the Faroe Islands, Denmark, the Baltic Countries, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Greek Islands and Cuba.

Most of Hans-F's subjects are cityscapes or landscapes, but are far from mere  architectural drawings.

He is inspired by colour, new forms and foreign cultures, where - among other things - he explores the light.

When painting in watercolour, Hans-F is fascinated by the meeting between water, paper and colour.  - Then everything comes alive. Anything can happen. Colour combinations. Fantastic structures. Everything flows. There is both spontaneity and risk in this working process.
